How to Prepare for Your Sound Healing Session

Whether you're attending your first Multi-Gong Sound Bath at Malina Portals or exploring sound healing for the first time, preparing yourself beforehand can help you get the most from your experience.
A little preparation allows you to settle into the session with greater ease, helping you relax, become more present, and fully receive the soothing vibrations of sound and energy. There is nothing you need to "do perfectly"—simply arrive with an open mind, a willingness to slow down, and curiosity about your own experience.
Here are a few simple ways to prepare for your session:
Stay Hydrated
Drink plenty of water throughout the day before your session. Since the human body is made up largely of water, many people find that staying well hydrated enhances their overall comfort and experience during sound healing. Continue drinking water afterward to support your body's natural recovery and relaxation.
Eat Lightly
Enjoy a light, nourishing meal about 1½–2 hours before your session. Avoid arriving overly full, as a lighter stomach often makes it easier to relax deeply and comfortably during the experience.
Set a Gentle Intention
Take a quiet moment before your session to reflect on what you'd like to receive. Your intention can be as simple as:
"I choose peace."
"I welcome clarity."
"I am open to relaxation."
"I release what no longer serves me."
There is no right or wrong intention—simply allow it to come from your heart.
Dress Comfortably
Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows you to fully relax while sitting or lying down. Our studio provides comfortable oversized mats, cushions, blankets, and pillows, so you don't need to bring anything except yourself.
Arrive Early
Please arrive 15–20 minutes before your session begins. This gives you time to settle into the space, disconnect from the pace of the day, and begin your experience feeling calm and centered.
Most Importantly…
Come with an open heart and without expectations. Every sound healing journey is unique. Some people experience deep relaxation, others gain clarity or inspiration, while many simply enjoy a peaceful escape from the demands of everyday life.
